32 more days to go until election day in Norway. For the first time, social media are used by almost every politician and political party. Inspired by the success of Barack Obama, almost everyone looks to social media as their way to victory.
But do they know what they are doing? So far it seems to be mostly immature use by overly active politicians, but it’s still too early to give the final verdict.
This week the campaing really heated up, and some parties upped the quality and strategic approach to social media. I you’re interested in the subject, there are already some industry discussions about the importanse of social media in Norwegian politics. I include two lnks to relevant inputs, but they’re in Norwegian.
More important than ever, but of little importance
BUZZ a valuable political tool
Also I find this desrption of the Obama campaign to be of great relevance and inspiration:

Norway’s internet penetration is more than 87% , so I guess social media should prove handy, especially with the youth.
But then again, the power of tools depends on the user. Barack Obama, believed in social tools, does the same apply to the Norwegian politicians?
